Primary Maths Challenge
Last night, 4 Year 5 pupils: Nicolas, Freya, Bethany and Niranjana represented SVPS at the Primary Maths Challenge hosted by Torquay Academy.
The competition was split into rounds, consisting of a countdown round, relay race round, construction round and marathon round.
Various primary schools from across the bay took part in the challenges and even some parents took part too with their own team!
The top 3 teams were announced in reverse order……… they announced joint third place – not SVPS. They then announced second place – again, not SVPS. At this point we assumed we had not come in the top 4. First place announced……. Sherwell Valley Primary School! We were shocked and speechless but over the moon!
The team were incredible and both Mrs Mildoon and Miss Aplin (who supported and chaperoned the team) were so proud of their achievement! Amazing work!!!!
