Outdoor classroom day
On Thursday last week, thanks to a break in the rain, children throughout the school took part in ‘Outdoor Classroom Day’, a national event aimed at encouraging children to learn in the natural environment. There were story telling sessions on the field, orienteering activities, pond dipping, quiet reading in the sunshine, cricket games, cooking activities in the quiet area whilst other classes just took their tables and lessons into the fresh air!
Even Mr Gower took advantage of some outdoor time to top up on his tan whilst typing on his laptop. The children and staff had a fantastic time and were reminded of how much fun they can have taking their learning outside.
