On Monday 6th June, 6 children from Reception to Year 6 took part in the Sherwell Bake-Off final. They spent the morning making sweet treats, with a Rio theme (for the Olympics) and then had a live tasting in front of 8 classes from across the school. Tasters were selected at random from the audience and after much difficult deliberation, announced Grace Povey (4S) as the runner up and Sophia Sular (6BW) as the winner. All contestants put a huge amount of effort into their creations and had minimal help from adults. It was incredible to see children as young as 5 producing delicious, beautifully presented treats and cakes.

Runner up, Grace Povey, created nougat-filled chocolate cones in the style of the Olympic torch.

The winner, Sophia Sular, created a large rectangular cake topped with a landscape of Rio de Janeiro, including the Christ the Redeemer statue.
