The First of Many…

The new school chickens have settled in really well over the last few weeks. They have had a steady stream of visitors from children across the school and been spoilt with plenty of treats. Hens start to lay eggs when they are around 6 months old and as our ladies were born at the beginning of January the children have been checking regularly to see who could find the first one. We had a soft practise egg found on Saturday morning, but the first real egg was found on Tuesday the 12th May by Jay in 5L. We hope this egg will be the first of many, so keep your eyes out for a ‘Sherwell Valley Eggs for sale’ sign.
