Online Safety

We encourage responsible Internet use in our school.

On application to the school both pupils and parents need to sign an Internet Permission Form. Parents also need to sign a Consent form to permit (or not) the school to use images of their children (Data Protection Act 1998) on e.g. reading diaries, the school website and prospectus.

Our network Internet usage is filtered by Lightspeed Rocket to eradicate access to inappropriate sites.

Our children are taught not only to respect the Internet for all the great information that it can offer; it has become a vital tool for communication and information and is critical to your children’s development in today’s world; but we need to take sensible precautions to protect ourselves from harm. To this end we only allow web-based searches to be carried out to support them in their learning. If children or staff access anything that they are not happy with they should report this to a member of the ICT team.
