Mrs Waller took 37 children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 to take part in a cross country competition this week. Due to the fact we were the only school to take part we have been put through to compete in the Devon Winter Games held at Clennon Valley in March! Well done to

Library officially opened!

On Wednesday, Piers Torday (author of The Last Wild) came to visit our school. He talked to our year 5 and 6 children about ideas for stories and how he approached writing. He also worked with some lucky children in a creative writing workshop. After that he opened our shiny new Library!

Quad Kids at Devon Summer Games

The Quad Kids athletics team participated in the Devon Schools Summer Games on Thursday. The team participated in 4 events: 75m sprint, 600m run, vortex throw and standing long jump. We were very competitive, finally finishing 5th in the County. Well done to: Tom, Axel, Charlie, Harry, William, Zoe, Milla, Charlotte and Hannah.

Tri-Golf at the Devon Summer Games

Year 4 children took part in the Tri Golf event at the Devon Schools Summer Games in Plymouth. The children were fantastic and were great representatives of Sherwell Valley Primary School. We came 6th out of 14 teams across the county. Well done to: Olivia, Emilia, Ezme,  Elise, Imogen, Charlie, Olly, Freddie, Bradley & Marcus.

Tug of War

The Rotary held their annual tug of war event on Babbacombe Downs. Our year 6 team came second winning £30!!! It was an extremely hot day and the children gave it everything they had!!!

The children have now completed their 12th mile at School in preparation for the final mile on Paignton Green this Sunday. We were lucky to have one of the THHN organisers along with their Memory Maker mascot join us today. Can you spot the mascot in the photo?! Well done to all 184 children who

Woodland Cabin

The cabin was the last item funded from the Tesco ‘Bags of Help’ grant, which the school was awarded this time last year. On Thursday last week, thanks to a break in the rain, children throughout the school took part in ‘Outdoor Classroom Day’, a national event aimed at encouraging children to learn in the natural environment.
