The children presented a special news report, which included information about the different species of fish that we might find in our local and international waters. Thanks to the School Council, the school chickens now have a new 21 metre movable fence. This will not only allow them to have more space to play and scratch around in during the day but will also give them a chance to visit different parts of the school grounds throughout the year!

Anti-bullying rap and poster

There’s been lots of good thinking this week about anti-bullying. Our message in school is to STOP bullying, by telling other people. Harvey and Callum from 6S performed this rap to our KS2 assembly today, at the end of anti-bullying week. Harvey wrote the rap with the hope that it would “make kids stop bullying.”

Torquay United Players

On Thursday 19th, we had a visit from two Torquay United players – Shepherd Murombedz and Courtney Richards.  They talked to the football squads about their careers and what it’s like to be a professional footballer.  They followed this with a question and answer session – answering questions on just about everything you can think of. 

Anti-Bullying Week 2015

This week is “Anti-Bullying Week” and we have been doing lots of work this week on this.  The Year 5 children had a visit from WPCSO Disney, and she talked to them about e-safety and cyber-bullying. The children got a great deal from this, and are really clued up on how to keep themselves safe online.

They will be growing a variety of facial hair styles to raise money for The Rowcroft Hospice.  Any donations will be gratefully received in the school office.
